My photoshoot with Olessia ignited a spark within me that had been put out for way too long. What she gave me was so much more than a photoshoot, but a chance to see myself in a different light.It helped restore my confidence and awakened a dormant goddess inside of me that had been asleep for far too many years.

Olessia has this amazing ability to see behind the lens and imagine beauty within her mind. She is an extremely talented photographer who is able to look deep inside your soul and capture the heart and spirit of who you really are. As one of her clients, I felt compelled to write about my first experience with her so you can understand how this humble woman creates magic in all of her photography.

I met Olessia through a mutual client. I had just launched my writing business and was new to walking the entrepreneurial path. At the time, I’d never had a professional shoot done, didn’t know how to pose, had little confidence in myself, and my website and social media profiles displayed attempted professional selfies that really weren’t doing me any justice. 

After a brief chat, an impromptu video of me on camera, and quick bonding session, I knew it was time for those selfies to go and engaged Olessia as my first-ever photographer. What was meant to be a personal branding shoot ended up including lifestyle, glamour and boudoir photography and well the photos speak for themselves. 

On the day of the shoot I made my way to Dyan’s local studio for hair and makeup. Dyan is Olessia’s very gifted makeup artist who was conveniently located 5 minutes from me. From the moment she met me, Dyan was lovely and welcoming. She made me feel extremely comfortable, chatting to me like an old friend as she proceeded to transform me in front of the mirror. 

Enroute to Olessia’s home studio, I could feel butterflies. After overcoming a year of adversity, my confidence was waning and I was nervous about stepping in front of a camera. 

This completely changed once Olessia greeted me at the door with a big smile and a warm cup of tea. Once I was warmed from the belly up (it was winter), Olessia took me into a room filled with rows and rows of stunning dresses and outfits that took my breath away. It also ended up with me doing a little bit of a movie montage — hence why it became so much more than a personal branding shoot.

Once ready, we began! Starting with personal branding, Olessia’s eye for photography was evident here as she directed me to pose in ways that showed both an empowered but friendly business woman. After a few outfit changes and a series of poses, we moved onto lifestyle. This was where Olessia was able to capture my true creative spirit and the writer within me. 

After a short lunch break, it was time to really up the game as I put on a stunning ball gown that screamed femininity. This was when I really came alive. I remember looking into the mirror and thinking I had never seen myself like this before. 

I had forgotten this part of me had even existed.

 

Our final shoot of the day was Boudoir. As I slipped into a sexy little number, I could not believe the seductive woman staring back at me. Olessia really knew how to play with this one too. She was so patient behind the lens which helped me relax as her camera clicked away — capturing every part of my body, and my soul. 

I’ve done many things in my life but this had to be one of the most amazing and life-changing experiences. What I thought was going to be a simple shoot ended up transforming into one with a touch of sexy, sass and glamour that really awakened me as a woman.  

What I loved most about Olessia was that she got to know me as a writer, person and business owner. She taught me how to love and embrace all parts of myself  and that we all have the ability to be a model for the day. 

Since my shoot with her, I have used my photos for numerous things. They are all over my website and social media presence. I get comments on them all of the time.

What Olessia gave me is more than just a photoshoot, it was an empowering experience that I will always remember.
